Our favorite hair care tips for healthy gorgeous locks

Whether you're aiming for luscious long hair or simply want to maintain your current style, taking care of your hair is crucial! Here are my five essential tips to keep your locks looking their best:

1. Nourish with Natural Oils

Incorporating natural oils into your hair care routine can work wonders for damage and dryness. Oils like almond, vitamin e, and jojoba provide essential nutrients and help to lock in moisture. This is the reason we use them in our oil formulas! For a deep conditioning treatment, apply a generous amount of oil to your hair, leave it on for at least an hour (or overnight for maximum benefits), and then wash it out with a double shampoo.

2. Washing tips

One of the biggest myths I see is that you’re not supposed to wash your hair more than 2-3 times a week. Aim to wash your as needed based on your hair type! I personally can get away with washing once a day as I have fine, straight hair that tends to get oily right at the 24hr mark. However, this only goes for my scalp—when I wash my hair every day, I find my ends need a little more moisture so this is something to keep in mind. If your hair doesn’t tend to get greasy or weighed down for a few days, then you are good to go!
At the end of the day, it’s about your scalp and what it needs. Listen to it! Letting your scalp get overly greasy, dirty, and itchy can cause inflammation and essentially lead to more hair fall. If you do decide to wash once a day, I highly recommend a boar bristle brush to evenly distribute your hairs natural oils throughout your mid-ends before showering to really get all the extra moisture you can.

3. Embrace the Power of Herbal Rinses

Herbal rinses can strengthen your hair and add a natural shine. Try brewing a tea with herbs like rosemary, nettle, or chamomile and use it as a final rinse after shampooing. These herbs can help with various hair concerns, from dandruff to enhancing natural color.

4. Protect from Heat Damage

Heat styling tools like blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons can cause significant damage if not used properly. Always apply a heat protectant spray before styling, and try to keep the temperature settings as low as possible. Or, even better, don’t use heat at all if you can. Allow your hair to air dry or use a cool setting on your blow dryer whenever you can to minimize heat exposure. Keep in mind when air drying that your hair is more susceptible to damage as it is in its weakest state when wet.

5. Choose Gentle Hair Accessories

Using harsh hair accessories can lead to breakage and split ends. Opt for soft, snag-free hair ties, hair sticks or claw clips and avoid pulling your hair back too tightly. When brushing, use a wide-tooth comb or a brush with flexible bristles to detangle gently, especially when your hair is wet.

By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to healthier, more vibrant hair. Remember, consistent care and attention are key to maintaining your locks in top condition. Be patient, and give your hair the love it needs 🤍
